Brighton Football Club Minis and Sunday u/14s and 16s
Last Updated: Thursday 24th April 2008 - 2:02pm
TST Managing Director Kym Steer has a passion for Australian Rules Football; currently he is involved as the Leadership coach with the West Torrens/Woodville Football club in the South Australian National Football League. By far Kym's greatest passion is local football, especially with our primary school age Mini Bombers. Begun in 2000 by Marcus Crawford (Brighton Irrigation) the Club is now at the stage where it provides a great building ground for primary age footballers and for players looking to develop their skills whilst having fun all at the same time.

Mothers Day
We have been able to schedule our Annual Mothers Day matches for Sunday 11 May. For new players, the Black and Yellow teams play each other at home and their is always a special surprise for the Mothers! The games times will be 2/3's & 4/5's at 9am and 6/7's at 10am so we can finish up a bit earlier in time to take Mum out to Lunch!
Team Photos
We have organised for Team photos to be taken on Mothers Day 11 May 2008 by ‘Sports In Focus’. Year 2/3 and 4/5 players need to be at the oval at 8.30am on and 6/7’s at 9.30am so team photos can be taken. It should not take long. There is also an opportunity for Mothers to have their photo with their children if they wish. There is no obligation to buy photos. More information will be given out at training on Friday 9 May 2008.Thanks to Michelle Symmonds for organising the photos.
Trainers
Each team is required by the SFL to provide a ‘Trainer’ at each game both home and away.We have been advised that games will not commence unless a trainer is present and if not provided the home club will be fined. Also, Trainers must be in uniform in accordance with the STA rules, that is, black or white trousers with white STA logo shirt or STA logo jacket Trainers must be registered with the STA - minimum qualification is senior first aid certificate (can be a nurse) and registered by the 3rd round. If you would like to commit to being the ‘Trainer’ for your child’s team (even if you do not have qualifications but would like to) can you please let Karen Kelly on or 0413088817. The uniform will be supplied.
BBQ & Canteen Roster
Thank you to Jody Reilly (Yellow) and Robyn Venning-Smith (Black) who have kindly offered to organise the BBQ each week. A roster will be out shortly. It is a big help if everyone takes their turn and shares to load!! The BBQ is a good fundraiser each week for the Minis. There will also be a Roster for Coffee Making and Canteen.
Raffles
Thank you to Susannah Tymmons for offering to organise the Raffles each week. If you can assist her by selling tickets on Training nights I am sure she would appreciate the help. If you would like to donate any prizes/vouchers that we could raffle please contact Susannah at
Reminders
Thanks to all players for not wearing their footy boots in the Clubrooms - it keeps the carpet a lot cleaner and less wear and tear. When leaving boots outside can you please keep boots away from the doorways so people do not trip over them (or put them in a footy bag).
Guernsies
Are only to be worn on Match Days. Please do not wear them to training or at other times. This will keep the guernsies in good condition and make them last longer!
Car Stickers
Get your Brighton Bombers 2008 car stickers only $4 each - available at the Clubrooms.
Karaoke Night
Friday 9 May 2008 in the Clubrooms – stay for a drink and be entertained by budding singers waiting to be discovered!!
Dear Coaches,
Just before the season starts it would be good if all the coaches could get together to make sure we are all set to go.
I also have coaches information packs etc to hand over.
A meeting will be held next Thursday 1st May at 7.30pm at the Clubrooms (in the small side area of bar). It should not take long. Meals are avaliable at the Club.
